Microcolor’s core competency is its ability to respond effectively to customer‑specific performance requirements through tailored formulation solutions. The development and manufacture of custom pigment dispersions for diverse end‑use applications represent a central focus of our operations.

Our formulation capabilities include, but are not limited to, the following application areas:

  • Plastisol and Organosol Systems: Pigment dispersions prepared in a range of plasticizer systems for use in plastisol and organosol processing. Typical applications include dip molding, slush molding, and rotational molding for products such as toys, hand tools, sporting goods, footwear, automotive components and interiors, vinyl‑coated paper, and vinyl‑coated fabrics.

  • Flexible Polyurethane Foam: Custom dispersions designed for incorporation into flexible polyurethane foam systems, including slabstock foams, carpet underlay, upholstery, toys, novelty products, and other flexible foam applications.

  • Rigid Polyurethane and RIM Systems: Dispersions engineered for rigid foam and reaction injection molding (RIM) applications, including chair armrests, taxidermy forms, automotive steering wheels, and bumper or fender assemblies.

  • Epoxy Systems: Pigment dispersions suitable for epoxy‑based casting, potting, and coating applications.

  • Architectural and Industrial Coatings: Custom color solutions for in‑plant tinting of aqueous and solvent‑borne paints and stains.

  • Silicone Systems: Specialty dispersions formulated for silicone‑based adhesives, sealants, and caulking compounds.

  • Printing Inks: Specialty color dispersions developed for a range of ink applications within the printing industry.
